Government Office of the South West
Government Office of the South West (GOSW) works with regional partners and local people to help deliver the Government's central aims in the region;- to achieve high and stable levels of growth and employment and build an inclusive and prosperous society that can develop in a sustainable way.
GOSW organises itself through the following directorates:
- Regional Policies, Culture & Enterprise
- Local Government
- Housing & Planning
- Sustainability, Intelligence & Rural Affairs (including Ministerial Business)
- Children and Learners
- Regeneration, Social Inclusion and Transport

Stakeholder Objectives
GOSW aims to make the SW a better place to live and work, now and in the future.
We work to achieve sustainable growth and to develop safe and prosperous communities that meet the diverse needs of everyone who lives and works here.
To achieve this we put Government policy into practice at local level, implementing key programmes and initiatives in partnership with regional and local organisations and provide feedback to central Government that helps inform future policy.
