Stakeholder ObjectivesThe Defence Vision sets out the key principles which provide the basis of work for Defence, these are; defending the UK and its interests and strengthening international peace and stability. This is achieved by working together on the core tasks of producing battle-winning people and equipment that are; fit for the challenge of today, ready for the tasks of tomorrow and capable of building for the future. This requires the highest standards of professionalism imbued with fighting spirit, well trained and properly equipped. MOD seeks to provide the Armed Forces with an estate of the right size and quality, managed and developed effectively in line with acknowledged best practice, and is sensitive to social and environmental considerations. The need for military training on Dartmoor to continue was investigated by an independent consultant, who concluded that Dartmoor remains a key asset of the defence estate The Defence Estate Strategy 2006 details MOD’s strategic objectives.
